Full job description

Bistoro Ristoro, Italian Restaurant in Ottawa, Byward Market is hiring a Pizzaiolo/a Pizzaiola - Committed to Great Food and Superior Customer Service

Job Duties

Prepare and store pizza dough
Prepare pizza sauces
Prepare pizza bases and ingredients according to the restaurant recipes
Cook pizzas in a traditional gas fired dome oven
Check quality of pizzas and finish them before they’re served to guests
If necessary, trains other cooks in the preparation process so the pizza making process is uniform
Maintains inventory and orders supplies
Collaborates effectively with servers and other line cooks in order to efficiently deliver all menu items according to the orders of the customers
Adhere to restaurant policies and procedures
Performs regular cleaning of the pizza equipment (preparation, cooling and cooking stations) and reports on needs for its maintenance or reparation
Makes sure the pizza kitchen area is clean and sanitized

Required skills: Prepare and cook Neapolitan Style Pizza and other soft dough products with high hydration including sandwiches, flat breads, bread bites and bread sticks

Education: culinary training with a focus on Italian food heritage is highly desirable, but not mandatory

Relevant Experience: 1 year

Personal suitability: Demonstrates professional competence and mastery of a pizza making, Works independently and in close co-operation with others in a multicultural context and respect for diversity , Ensures quality and efficiency in work delivered, Client focus, Ability to work under pressure, Willingness to work a flexible schedule

Terms of employment:

Either Part-time 12-15 hours/week (Thursday-Saturdays 11.30am-2.30pm and Sundays 11.30-4.00pm),

or Permanent, Full time 30-44 hours/week (Thursday-Saturdays 11.30am-2.30pm and 5.30 until close and Sundays 11.30-4.00pm)

Location of work: 17 Clarence Street, Ottawa, ON, K1N 5P4

Closest intersection: Sussex/Clarence
