Job Overview

Cavanagh Concrete Limited was established in 2015 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Thomas Cavanagh Construction through a partnership with McNamee Concrete. This collaboration combined decades of expertise and shared family values to create a trusted leader in the concrete industry. Thomas Cavanagh Construction, a respected contractor in the Ottawa region, and McNamee Concrete, founded in 1977, both built their reputations on quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. Today, Cavanagh Concrete Ltd. continues that tradition, offering a safe, supportive work environment.

We are seeking additional experienced concrete labourers and form setters for our Commercial Division based out of our Jasper office. These individuals will be responsible for all manual labor necessary for the construction of concrete foundations. This role requires experience working with concrete footings and walls with strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and consistent situational awareness.

Roles and Responsibilities

Assemble footings and stand panels
Install rebar
Ability to brace wall, install and disassemble scaffolding
Operation of a power tools
Prepare walls before pouring – operate oil sprayer
Install sleeves in correct location
Install wall beam pockets
Install windows (drops, buck windows)
Offsets and veneer as per plan
Pump, vibrate and float concrete
Install anchor bolts
Install dowels
Strip footings and walls
Shovel dirt or stone
Dig pads
Patch walls after stripped
Cut concrete
Maintain a clean and safe worksite
Assist foreman when required
All other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications

Concrete experience required
Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations
Physical stamina for demanding tasks
Experience using tools
Excellent communication skills and positive attitude
Ability to follow directions
Willingness to learn new skills and follow directions
Strong work ethic and reliability
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
