Full job description

Dessert First is looking for a passionate, hospitality-driven FOH team members (Servers/Baristas) to join our team.

We are a popular, fast-paced 30-seat brunch restaurant and bakery known for amazing food, delicious desserts, and a loyal community of wonderful customers. We are looking for people who genuinely loves people and can help us take our hospitality and customer experience to the next level.

This is a multi-skilled position that includes serving, barista duties, bakery sales, bar service, hosting, food running, and supporting the overall operation.

You may be the right person if you:

Are warm, engaging, and genuinely passionate about hospitality
Understand and consistently follow the proper steps of service
Have solid serving and/or barista experience
Naturally connect with customers and provide thoughtful recommendations
Can multitask and manage your time in a busy, fast-paced environment
Remain calm, friendly, and efficient under pressure
Have strong emotional intelligence and respond to concerns with empathy
Work with energy, urgency, and attention to detail
Take initiative and notice what needs to be done
Are organized, dependable, positive, and solution-driven
Have a team-first, no-ego mindset
Take pride in creating an exceptional guest experience

What you will do:

Welcome, seat, and serve guests warmly and attentively
Follow Dessert First’s steps of service and maintain high hospitality standards
Take accurate food and beverage orders
Prepare coffee, espresso, tea, and other beverages
Provide responsible bar service, including beer, wine, and cocktails
Sell cakes, pastries, and other bakery products
Make menu recommendations and upsell appropriately
Respond professionally to customer questions and concerns
Clear tables, wash dishes, restock, and maintain clean FOH areas
Complete opening and closing responsibilities

Requirements:

Valid Smart Serve and Food Handlers certification
Strong multitasking, communication, and time-management skills
Availability to work weekends, including Sundays
Available to work at least 3 shifts per week
