Full job description

Overview
Kawartha Lakes Excavating Inc. is currently looking to hire motivated, reliable, and hardworking Operators and Labourers to join our growing team. We are seeking both full-time and part-time employees for a variety of excavation and construction projects throughout the Kawartha Lakes area.

Duties

Operate a variety of heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, excavators, graders, and backhoes to support construction projects.
Conduct pre-operation inspections to ensure equipment safety and proper functioning.
Perform site preparation, grading, excavation, paving, and material handling tasks efficiently and safely.
Maintain equipment by performing routine checks and minor repairs; report any mechanical issues promptly.
Drive commercial vehicles to transport equipment or materials between job sites when required while adhering to safety regulations.
Follow all safety protocols and construction standards to minimize hazards on-site.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within specifications.

Qualifications

Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, backhoes, etc.
Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance.
Experience with septic system installation an asset.
Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and regulations.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. This position offers an opportunity for individuals passionate about heavy equipment operation and construction projects to contribute their skills in a dynamic environment dedicated to safety and quality workmanship.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 50.0 per week
