Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Barista/Bakery Worker to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality coffee, sandwiches and bakery items while providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, strong time management skills, and experience in food handling and customer service. The role is $18 an hour to start plus tips. A shift meal and drink is also provided.

Weekend availability is a must.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, sandwiches, and bakery items with precision and care
Operate POS system for accurate cash handling and transactions (Square)
Manage food preparation tasks, including packaging baked goods
Ensure food safety standards are maintained at all times
Provide exceptional customer service by taking orders, answering questions, and assisting with menu selections
Maintain cleanliness of the work area, equipment, and dining space throughout shifts
Handle cash register operations accurately, including basic math calculations for transactions
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during busy hours
Follow food safety guidelines to ensure quality and hygiene standards are met at all times

Requirements

Previous experience as a barista or in the food industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided
Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing
Ability to manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service
Food safety certification or willingness to obtain one is preferred
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
