Full job description

Island Foods & Freight is a privately owned, family-operated warehouse distribution and freight transportation company, located on Vancouver Island. With warehouses located in Port McNeill and Campbell River, and our head office in the Comox Valley, we are constantly growing!

We are excited to offer this position at our Port McNeill warehouse. This position is in-person only and you must be able to be on site for the duration of the shifts, due to specialty software programs.

Note that this is a part-time position, and will be Thursday to Saturday, approximately 8am - 4pm. There is possibility that it can lead to full-time later on.

Duties & Responsibilities:

We are looking for a friendly, organized, and motivated employee to join our team part-time. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys customer service, sales support, and working in a fast-paced environment.

As part of the order desk, you will work closely with our customers and staff to process orders, answer questions, and help keep daily operations running smoothly.

Some key responsibilities include:

Answer customer phone calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries
Enter customer orders into our operating system accurately and efficiently
Assist customers with product information, pricing, and availability
Receive and process inventory into stock via our operating program
Handle customer cash and credit card payments
Support the sales team and customer account management
Work with the warehouse and delivery teams to ensure smooth order flow
Maintain a professional and positive customer experience
Assist with special projects assigned by management
Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to help wherever needed.
Must be legally able to work in Canada and located locally in the Comox Valley.

Qualifications:

Strong communication and customer service skills
Comfortable using computers and learning operating systems/software
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to multitask in a busy environment
Previous office, order desk, sales or customer service experience is an asset

Wage:

Wage will depend on experience and can be discussed at an interview. We are offering $20.00-$23.00 per hour.
