Full job description

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food service. As a key member of our restaurant management team, the Sous Chef will support the head chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, safety, and efficient service. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to a vibrant hospitality environment while honing their culinary and managerial skills.

Duties

Assist in supervising kitchen staff, including cooks and food handlers, to ensure smooth daily operations
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high standards of quality and presentation
Manage food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations
Coordinate with the restaurant management team to plan menus and control inventory levels
Lead by example in food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
Support training and development of kitchen staff to enhance skills and teamwork
Serve as a leader during service hours, ensuring timely delivery of dishes and excellent customer experience
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment at all times
Assist in managing restaurant operations during the absence of the head chef

Experience

Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment
Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within the food industry
Demonstrated leadership in team management and restaurant management roles
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hospitality settings
Prior experience working in a kitchen environment with responsibilities related to serving guests
Familiarity with restaurant operations, including inventory control and menu planning
Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on teamwork and leadership within a hospitality setting
