WSP is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to strengthen our Ground Engineering & Materials practice across Northern BC and the Yukon , based in our Prince George, BC office. This high‑impact leadership role shapes our northern geotechnical strategy, guides major infrastructure programs, and elevates technical excellence across the region.

Your Impact

Lead complex geotechnical investigations, advanced analyses, design reviews, and construction‑phase services.
Guide multidisciplinary teams through full project life cycles with clear technical direction.
Evaluate intricate soil and rock conditions using advanced modelling to deliver robust, defensible recommendations.
Shape methodologies, standards, and innovation within WSP’s northern geotechnical practice.
Mentor and develop staff across levels, fostering strong capability and succession growth.
Engage authentically with clients, strengthening WSP’s trusted presence in Northern BC and the Yukon.

The Skills That Set You Apart

A degree in Civil or Geological Engineering, plus registration as a P.Eng. in Canada (or eligibility with EGBC).
15+ years of progressive geotechnical consulting experience, including northern, transportation, infrastructure, municipal, or resource‑sector projects.
Recognized expertise in advanced geotechnical analysis, subsurface evaluation, and construction considerations.
Ability to influence technical direction, guide teams, and support strategic decision‑making.
Proficiency with geotechnical platforms such as GeoStudio, Rocscience, or equivalent tools.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $147,500 – $195,400
MB & ON: $134,600 – $184,600
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $133,200 – $176,900
