Position Summary

As an Operator, you will be responsible for processing our Customer product, utilizing industrial sterilization modalities in a highly regulated FDA, ISO and GMP environment. You will be responsible for the safe operation of processing equipment in accordance with all Federal and Provincial operating regulations and procedures. You will review and adhere to Customer provided work instructions and processing documents.You will embrace in Continuous Improvement, Lean, Quality, and Safety Initiatives.

Please note that this is a Permanent and fully on-site position. This will be a day shift position with working hours from Monday to Friday between 8am to 4.30pm EST. The wage is at $27/hour.

What You'll Do as an Operator at STERIS

Protect Customer product by assuring proper processing and handling according to operating procedures, Customer, quality, regulatory and internal company specifications; reviews and completes all appropriate processing documentation.
Ensure production schedule is followed and maintains critical product flow through the facility by effectively coordinating daily tasks and personnel to meet production demands and prevent unplanned downtime.
Task may include but are not limited to placing and retrieving dose verification devices, loading / unloading product into processing rooms and/or vessels; loading product onto pallets; staging processed product in shipping storage area
Maintain required Operator certification(s), knowledge and understanding associated with the processing modality for which they are certified.
Operate and assists with the maintenance of the processing equipment to ensure the integrity of the sterilization process.
Execute minor repairs, and initiates maintenance work orders for other repairs.
Monitor processing operation, control systems and equipment functionality to ensure safety and Customer specifications are met. Responds to process and equipment alarm conditions while acting
within operational and safety guidelines.
Understand the scheduling process and can make recommendations to scheduling adjustments as needed.
Collaborate with supervision to ensure completion and effectiveness of training requirements, performance objectives and goals.
Contribute to a team effort by performing in accordance with all STERIS policies, Values, GMP, Lean principles and other directives; supports the directives and decisions of higher-level
management and perform other duties as assigned.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Required

Required:

Must have completed a High School degree or a GED.
Ability to necessary quality and inventory control data gathering and input in either written or electronic formats.
At least 2 years of expereince in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Must be certified to operate manual and motorized material handling equipment, including, but not limited to, forklifts, pallet jacks, elevators, conveyors, etc. and processing vessels or irradiators.

Preferred:

Previous Forklift experience desirable.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to organize and maintain organization.

This position requires knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties involved, including regular communications outside the province of Quebec, training, email communications, and frequent meetings and interactions with English-only employees.
