Senior Accountant
Downhole Video & Logging Solutions
Red Deer, Alberta (In-Office Position)

About Us
Downhole Video & Logging Solutions is a leading provider of specialized downhole inspection and logging services, supporting clients across the energy sector throughout Canada, the US, and abroad, with innovative diagnostic and technical solutions. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in our Red Deer office.

Position Overview
Reporting to CEO, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing key day-to-day accounting functions while ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and administrative processes. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who is comfortable managing transactional accounting responsibilities as well as month-end financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full invoicing and billing process, ensuring accuracy and timely customer invoicing
manage accounts payable functions, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment processing
Process payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring compliance with applicable payroll regulations and remittance requirements
Prepare monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date
Support management with financial reporting and analysis as required
Assist with preparation and year-end working papers for external accountants
Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and reporting procedures

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in a Senior Accountant or similar accounting role
Must live in the Central Alberta Area
Preferred to have a degree in accounting or business administration, but at a minimum should have a 2-year diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
Strong working knowledge of full-cycle accounting principles and month-end close processes
Experience with Sage accounting software and Excel would be an asset
Experience processing payroll and managing payroll compliance requirements
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Experience in oilfield services, industrial services, or a related industry would be considered an asset
