Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Roll and Cylindrical Grinder Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for precision grinding of cylindrical components, ensuring high-quality standards are met. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CNC machinery, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints. The successful applicant will contribute to the production of complex parts using advanced grinding techniques and equipment, supporting our commitment to manufacturing excellence.

Responsibilities

Operate and set up cylindrical grinders, including CNC lathe, CNC milling machines, and other grinding equipment such as Fanuc controls
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to determine specifications and tolerances
Program CNC machines using CNC programming languages to produce precise components
Utilize measuring tools such as calipers and other hand tools to verify dimensions and quality standards
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on grinding machinery to ensure optimal operation
Follow safety protocols related to machining, welding, and handling power tools and forklift operations
Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to lean manufacturing principles
Collaborate with team members in assembly processes when necessary, utilizing mechanical skills and power tools

Qualifications

Proven 5 years of experience in machining, grinding, or manufacturing environments with a focus on cylindrical or roll grinding
Proficiency with CNC programming, Fanuc controls, SolidWorks, CAD software, and blueprint reading
Strong mechanical knowledge including familiarity with CNC lathe, CNC milling machines, hand tools, power tools, welding, and forklift operation
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances
Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and translate them into precise machining operations
Experience with lean manufacturing principles is a plus
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control in precision machining tasks
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
