Job Overview
LUCKY TAIL Grooming & Daycare is seeking a full-time Receptionist to join our team.

This is a dynamic position that combines front desk responsibilities with hands-on pet care. In addition to providing excellent customer service and administrative support, you will assist with supervising and caring for dogs throughout the day. This role is ideal for someone who loves animals and enjoys both client interaction and pet care.

We are a family-owned pet grooming salon and daycare committed to providing exceptional service to pets and their families while building a trusted presence within our local community. We are also excited to announce that our second location is scheduled to open in Summer 2026, as we continue to grow and expand our services.

Pay
$19.00–$30.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Seeking a full-time employee who is available to work weekends.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome clients and their pets in a friendly and professional manner.
Manage client check-in and check-out procedures.
Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and direct inquiries appropriately.
Schedule appointments and coordinate daily bookings.
Process payments and operate the point-of-sale system.
Maintain accurate client records, grooming notes, and filing systems.
Assist with administrative duties, including liability waivers, data entry, and appointment management.
Monitor inventory levels, restock retail products, and update inventory records as new stock arrives.
Ensure the reception, retail, and common areas are clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of dogs in daycare.
Assist with feeding, walking, and providing daily care for pets as needed.
Support grooming and daycare staff with pet care, cleaning, and other duties as required.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility.
Assist with taking photos and videos for social media content.

Experience & Qualifications

Previous experience in reception, customer service, or administrative roles is required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Comfortable working around dogs and cats.
Professional English communication skills are required.
Japanese language skills are an asset.
Social media experience is considered an asset.
Positive attitude with strong teamwork skills.
Detail-oriented, responsible, and dependable.
Strong time-management skills.
Knowledge of dog breeds and coat types is an asset.
Knowledge of pet care, nutrition, and home grooming is an asset.
