As an AI Sales Specialist, you will drive adoption of AWS's AI and machine learning services spanning generative AI and agentic AI across our Commercial customer base, serving as a trusted advisor who helps customers navigate their AI journey from exploration to production.
This role goes beyond opportunity support you will own the AI sales motion within your assigned territory, developing and executing strategies to identify high-value opportunities, build qualified pipeline, and drive revenue. You bring domain expertise, enabling you to lead technical discussions and translate them into compelling business outcomes.
You will engage directly with customer Director and VP-level stakeholders, lead complex multi-stakeholder sales cycles, and adapt your approach to each customer's industry context, regulatory environment, and AI maturity level rather than following a prescriptive playbook.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the AI domain sales strategy within your assigned Commercial territory, identifying and prioritizing high-value customer opportunities across AWS's GenAI and Agentic AI portfolio.
- Lead full-cycle sales engagements from discovery through close, building business cases and ROI propositions that resonate with senior technical and business leaders.
- Engage directly with customer Director and VP-level stakeholders to understand business challenges, articulate multi-workload AI strategies covering GenAI and Agentic AI, and position AWS as the platform of choice for AI transformation.
- Develop and execute targeted engagement plans Executive Briefings, AI maturity assessments, immersion days, and proof-of-concept engagements adapting approach to each customer's industry context, regulatory environment, and AI maturity.
- Coordinate as a peer across account teams Account Managers, Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, Customer Success Managers, and Partner Development assembling the right resources and leading the AI opportunity strategy within territory.
- Build and maintain a qualified pipeline with disciplined opportunity management, accurate forecasting, and consistent stage progression operating independently with strong territory ownership.
- Develop and maintain domain expertise across AWS's AI portfolio including generative AI services, agentic AI capabilities, and foundational ML services serving as a subject matter expert in all customer-facing conversations.
- Stay current on AWS AI releases and market developments across GenAI and Agentic AI, developing a proactive perspective on where customer investments should be directed.
- Partner with Systems Integrators and Technology Partners to expand solution delivery capacity and accelerate customer adoption.
- Contribute to team mechanisms including pipeline reviews, account planning sessions, and best practice sharing that elevate the broader organization.
About the team
Our AI Sales Specialists are part of a collaborative team that drives GenAI and Agentic AI adoption across our Commercial customer base. We work closely with Solutions Architects who provide technical depth, architecture guidance, and hands-on validation together covering the full spectrum of customer engagement from business justification to technical implementation.

- 3+ years of full sales cycle, technology sales or equivalent business development experience
- Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing Director and VP-level stakeholders on technology strategy.
- Ability to manage complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts including generative AI and agentic AI with the ability to articulate business value to both technical and non-technical senior audiences.
- Experience building and managing a qualified pipeline with disciplined forecasting and independent opportunity management.
- Ability to operate independently within a territory developing strategy, prioritizing accounts, and executing without regular oversight.
- Experience selling AI, ML, generative AI, or agentic AI solutions in a Commercial or Enterprise environment.
- Strong familiarity with AWS AI/ML portfolio including Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, and agentic frameworks with broader knowledge of AWS compute, storage, and database services.
- Experience leading customer-facing workshops, executive briefings, or technical presentations tailored to customer-specific use cases and industry context.
- Experience navigating regulated industries (Financial Services, Healthcare, Energy) where compliance requirements shape solution design and customer decision-making.
- Ability to adapt commercial approach to customer context industry vertical, organizational maturity, regulatory environment, and procurement complexity.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and sales incentives (where applicable). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
