Full job description

Medigroup Health Services’ locations are progressive patient-centred medical facilities. We have created a network of family physicians, nurses, pharmacists, specialists, home care caregivers, and other healthcare professionals who have patient care as their top priority.

This role is being created to provide better shift coverage at our pharmacy. We are growing! We are looking for a flexible and team oriented Pharmacist to bring their skill set to our organization and patient base. We are open to 1-3 shifts from a incoming Pharmacist.

Job Responsibilities:

Check prescriptions for proper dosage
Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the quantities of drugs and other ingredients required and filling appropriate containers with correct quantity
Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or to other health care professionals and advise them on indications, contra-indications, adverse effects, drug interactions, and dosage
Maintain medication profiles of customers
Follow proper policies and procedures for dispensing narcotic and controlled medications
Ensure proper preparation, packaging, distribution and storage of all medication inventory
Offer information to assist patients in understanding how to properly take their prescribed medications
Assist patients in solving problems, such as identifying old medication or finding an over-the-counter solution to minor health issues

Requirements:

License in good standing to practice pharmacy in Manitoba
Strong understanding of Kroll is an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer service abilities
Reliable transportation
Availability to work Saturdays when requested
Able to administer medications by Injection
Additional Prescribing Authorization (optional)
