Help Painting Contractors Build Better Businesses

PaintScout is building the software that powers the painting industry.

Founded by a painting contractor, PaintScout helps contractors estimate faster, sell more work, and run better businesses. Thousands of contractors use PaintScout every day, and we're growing quickly.

We're looking for an Account Executive who can turn strong interest in PaintScout into new customers while also creating opportunities of their own.

This is not a traditional SaaS sales role. Our customers are painting contractors and business owners. They want someone who understands their business, asks good questions, communicates clearly, and can show them how PaintScout will actually make their company better.

The Opportunity

You'll own the sales process from the first conversation through close.

You'll work a healthy mix of inbound opportunities generated by our marketing and partnerships, while also being responsible for building your own pipeline through outbound activity, referrals, relationships, and industry connections.

Our sales process is straightforward. We don't believe in adding unnecessary steps. You'll talk with contractors, understand how they currently estimate, sell work and run their businesses, demonstrate PaintScout, and help them decide whether we're the right fit.

The best AEs at PaintScout aren't just great presenters. They're curious, competitive, organized, and genuinely interested in helping contractors improve their businesses.

What You'll Do

Sell PaintScout

Run discovery and product demos with painting contractors
Understand each contractor's business, challenges, goals, and current processes
Connect PaintScout's value to better sales, stronger pricing, improved efficiency, and a more professional customer experience
Confidently ask for the sale and consistently hit monthly revenue targets

Build Pipeline

Work inbound opportunities generated through marketing and partnerships
Create your own opportunities through calls, email, LinkedIn, referrals, and industry relationships
Follow up consistently with prospects who aren't ready to buy today
Build relationships within the painting industry that generate future opportunities

Own Your Performance

Maintain a healthy pipeline and understand exactly where you stand against your targets
Track the sales activities that lead to pipeline and revenue
Keep HubSpot accurate and up to date
Review your numbers regularly and adjust when something isn't working
Bring urgency and accountability to your role

Get Better

Develop a deep understanding of PaintScout and the painting industry
Learn from wins and losses
Share customer feedback with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success
Continuously improve your discovery, demos, follow-up, and sales approach

What We're Looking For

Experience in sales, ideally SaaS, technology, or another consultative sales environment
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Comfortable running a full sales conversation from discovery through close
Competitive and motivated by hitting goals
Comfortable creating your own opportunities rather than relying entirely on inbound leads
Curious and willing to understand how our customers actually run their businesses
Organized and disciplined with follow-up
Coachable, self-aware, and always looking to improve
Comfortable working in a fast-moving company where everyone is expected to contribute

Experience in the painting, construction, trades, or home services industries is a bonus, but not required.
