Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will support the accounting department by managing financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring accuracy across various administrative functions. Your energetic approach and organizational skills will help streamline office operations, contribute to precise bookkeeping, and enhance overall office efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone eager to grow their career in accounting and office management within a fast-paced environment. Exact wage will be determined based on experience.

Duties

Assist with data entry and maintenance of financial records using QuickBooks and other accounting software
Support bookkeeping activities, including invoicing, billing, and expense tracking
Accurately uploading invoices to third party sites and completing spend reports
Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries promptly and accurately via phone or email
Keeping up with union requirements and changes
Organize and file documents systematically, ensuring easy retrieval of information for audits or reports
Perform clerical duties for the Controller including proofreading documents, preparing reports, and managing correspondence using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace

Qualifications

Proven office experience with strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data entry skills
Familiarity with QuickBooks accounting software is highly preferred
Previous clerical or accounting experience in a professional setting is required
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently
Knowledge of office management practices, filing systems, calendar management, and proofing documents is essential
