About the Team
The Operations team reports up to the Operations Manager. This diligent team is responsible for all the production, manufacturing and quality control operations at ECI. The various parts of this team work efficiently together to ensure that the products that we design and manufacture meet the highest quality standards and provide the innovative solutions our customers expect. The technicians, operators and supervisors who are part of this team collaborate daily and have many opportunities to develop their skills and capabilities.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and capable Soldering Operator to join the Operations team at ECI. The role is responsible for performing solder and manual assembly of various electronic components, touch-up soldering and component repair for all surface mounted print circuit boards. The ideal candidate has a high attention to detail, is precise and comfortable with this type of work. Previous experience in this role, or a similar role, is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
· Utilize safety equipment, such as googles, face shields and gloves, while operating soldering equipment and performing related tasks
· Inspect soldering equipment to ensure proper functionality and prepare equipment for use based on process instructions
· Review work order process instructions in Aegis software, check part numbers and solder components on circuit boards; hand soldering of parts may be required
· Perform touch up work on assembled PCBs after wave soldering process
· Complete hardware rework on printed circuit boards and assemblies using a variety of documents including bill of material, engineering drawings, schematics, rework instructions, etc.
· Perform micro circuit assemblies which require fine hand assembly and manually align parts using IPC soldering standards
· Repair and overhaul older devices, replace defective components and clean any imperfections from the PCBs
· Review work to verify correct part placement and perform microscope inspection
· Document in detail any repair work done and components used in repair record
· Other assembly related tasks as required
About You
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Ability to proficiently speak, read and write English
· Experience in soldering with prior basic soldering training
· Experience with Aegis or other manufacturing software
· IPC 610A knowledge or training
· IPC J STD-001 knowledge
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Salary Range
$17.60 - $23.00 per hour
