Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal & Lending Administrator (Law Clerk) to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting legal and lending operations by managing documentation, conducting research, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Your energetic approach and organizational skills will help streamline processes, facilitate effective communication, and uphold the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your legal administrative expertise within a fast-paced environment committed to excellence.

What you'll do

Conduct PPSA and debtor searches before funding — every deal, without exception
Register, amend, renew, and discharge PPSA financing statements (Ontario PPSR, Quebec RDPRM, BC and Alberta PPR)
Build and maintain the registration expiry calendar across our full portfolio
Prepare mortgage charges and discharges for registration in Teraview
Run corporate, writ, execution, and title searches
Maintain complete security files: executed agreements, guarantees, registrations, search results
Prepare and file Small Claims Court proceedings; obtain default judgments
Prepare, issue, and enforce bank garnishments and writs of seizure and sale
Attend settlement conferences and hearings on the company's behalf
Monitor performing accounts for early signs of deterioration and escalate
Communicate with broker partners on defaults, renewals, and account status
Provide direct support to the department director as needed

What you bring

3+ years as a law clerk, legal administrator, or paralegal in secured lending, collections, real estate, or creditor enforcement
Hands-on PPSA registration and search experience — Ontario PPSR at minimum
Familiarity with Small Claims Court procedure: claims, default judgments, garnishments, writs
Teraview experience on the preparation side, or the ability to learn it quickly
Comfort with corporate, writ, and title searches
Strong organizational instincts — this role fails quietly when details slip, and we need someone who notices before anyone else does
Confidence to flag a problem rather than work around it

Nice to have

Commercial lending, merchant cash advance, or factoring background
Multi-jurisdiction registration experience (Quebec RDPRM, Western PPR)
Law clerk diploma or LSO paralegal licence
Experience building a tracking or workflow system where none existed

What we offer

$40,000–$55,000 annually, based on experience

Location

On-site in Concord, Ontario. This is a hands-on role during the build-out phase and requires being in the office. Flexibility may be available once the function is established.
