The Team
The Smithers Administrative Team consists of four experienced administrative professionals who provide operational support to program staff, team leaders, and directors across the branch. The team works collaboratively with social workers, clinicians, social worker assistants, and other service providers to ensure administrative processes are efficient, responsive, and aligned with program needs. Through strong teamwork, effective communication, and a commitment to service excellence, the team supports the delivery of programs and services that benefit children, youth, and families in the community
The Role
The Administrative Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and coordination of the branch's administrative operations, including office administration, human resources, payroll, records management, facilities, and asset management. The role supervises three administrative support staff, oversees financial functions such as budgeting, purchasing, accounts payable, and contract administration, and ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures. As the branch's primary administrative resource, the position supports program management by maintaining effective administrative systems and processes that enable efficient and high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Certificate or coursework in business or office administration and 1 year related experience; OR
- Secondary School graduation (Dogwood, GED) and 2 years related experience; OR
- Evergreen and 3 years related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related Experience may include
- Experience providing administrative and financial support services for a group of staff.
- Experience leading others.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Experience using applications: Integrated Case Management (ICM) and/or Management Information Systems (MIS) computer applications.
- Experience providing administrative support vulnerable children and families in a human/social services setting.
- 6 months financial experience and/or training.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to 1 day a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
