The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Recreation Therapist to join our Lifestyle Options – Terra Losa team on a temporary full-time basis, with the assignment scheduled to conclude on July 31, 2027. In this role, you will design thought-out treatment plans that improve and maintain the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of our residents under the direction of the site manager.

What you’ll do:

Conduct resident assessments and develop personalized recreation and leisure goals using standardized tools and therapeutic models.
Create and lead purposeful interventions that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being.
Develop monthly calendars and newsletters with input from Recreation Therapy Assistants; encourage resident involvement in planning.
Monitor resident participation, document progress, and adjust treatment plans based on feedback and observations.
Handle documentation, statistics, basic budgeting, and other administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

Diploma or degree in Recreation Therapy or related field.
Registered and in good standing with ATRA, CTRA, ThAAA, or LACAA.
Minimum two (2) years’ experience working with seniors, including those with dementia.
Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
Emotionally intelligent and empathetic in resident and family interactions.
Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
