Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our facilities. This role involves performing cleaning duties, basic facilities maintenance, and ensuring a hygienic environment for staff and visitors. The ideal candidate will be reliable, proactive, and committed to upholding high standards of cleanliness and safety within our organization.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas
Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, hallways, offices, and common areas
Conduct commercial cleaning using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to ensure a sanitary environment
Assist with basic facilities maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, reporting repairs, and minor troubleshooting
Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are well-maintained and stored properly
Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries during cleaning activities
Adhere to established health and safety regulations to ensure compliance with organizational standards
Support special cleaning projects or deep-cleaning tasks as needed

Skills

Proven experience in cleaning or custodial work preferred
Knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures and best practices
Basic understanding of facilities maintenance and general upkeep tasks
Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
Strong attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness and quality of work
Good organizational skills to manage time efficiently during shifts
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following safety guidelines
Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
