Full job description

Job Overview
We are hiring one full time, or two part time, experienced dog groomer for our pet-spa and retail business in St. Thomas.

1. Must have at least 2 years experience grooming dogs, and a portfolio with you in the portfolio.

2. I will not read resumes - upload your portfolio and send me the link, or put your pictures in a word doc. Explain what part of the dog you worked on, or whether you did the whole dog. What are your specialties.

3. This is NOT a training position. We will not train you to groom. We do not need bathers.

4. We are not hiring for any other positions at the moment.

This role is for someone who can complete full professional grooms independently, creatively, and fear free. We are building our grooming program from the beginning and want the right groomer to help shape it properly.

We are not focused on high volume. We want quality grooming, safe handling, realistic booking times, good client relationships and a little creativity.

Groomer Rights and Support

We respect the groomer’s professional judgment.

The groomer also has the right to speak with new clients before accepting, or rejecting, a dog, especially if there are concerns about behaviour, coat condition, matting, age, medical needs, or unrealistic expectations.

Requirements

Professional dog grooming experience
Able to complete full grooms independently
Good dog-handling skills
Reliable and organized
Comfortable communicating with clients
Focused on quality, safety, and dog comfort

Photos of previous grooms are strongly preferred.

Experience

Previous experience as a professional dog groomer is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
Ability to handle dogs of various sizes, temperaments, and energy levels with patience and care. However, most of our clientelle will be smaller dogs.
Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods during grooming sessions
Knowledge of safety protocols related to animal handling and grooming equipment
