Full job description

Interlake School Division invites applications for a Part Time / TERM School Social Worker.

Start Date -September 8, 2025

End Date: June 30, 2027

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Social Work or Master of Social Work, be registered with the Manitoba College of Social Workers, and hold or be eligible for a Manitoba School Clinician Certificate in Social Work.

Responsibilities include:

consulting with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and community agencies to provide supportive services that contribute to student success
providing individual counselling and support to students in the school setting
using a strengths-based assessment approach to understand student needs, family context, attendance concerns, and barriers to school engagement in order to support meaningful planning
supporting families through consultation, collaboration, and connection to helpful resources
working alongside school teams to support student planning, problem-solving, and coordinated interventions
supporting students with social, emotional, behavioural, family, and attendance-related needs
strengthening home-school-community collaboration
making referrals to community agencies and collaborating with external service providers as required
providing education and support to staff and families related to student well-being, mental health, and social-emotional development
supporting crisis response, student re-entry planning, and other student service needs as required
maintaining confidential documentation and communicating plans and updates appropriately, following applicable privacy legislation
organizing, prioritizing, and assuming responsibility for managing an independent caseload

Specific Requirement: valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
