Job Summary
If you are passionate about shoes, SAS Comfort Shoes in Burnaby is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Part Time Retail Sales Associate to join our team. We are offering 20 - 25 hours per week with the opportunity to pick up more hours during peak season.

Here at SAS Comfort Shoes, we specialize in selling high quality comfort footwear, in a warm, friendly and relaxed environment. We take pride in the fact that the shoes we sell are handcrafted by experienced shoemakers, using the best leathers on the market. We seek a team member who shares our passion for quality, takes the same pride in their work, and strives to deliver the best customer experience.

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with product selection, fitting and ensuring a positive shopping experience. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for retail sales, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs
Conduct product demonstrations and explain features to customers
Engage in upselling to maximize sales opportunities
Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties
Maintain merchandising standards and organize products on the sales floor
Provide personalized customer service to enhance satisfaction and loyalty
Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
Keep the sales area organized, clean, and well-stocked
Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment
Support team members in achieving store sales goals through effective communication and collaboration

Requirements

Previous retail sales experience is preferred, especially in technology or product demos
Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
Ability to work effectively in a bilingual environment; proficiency in multiple languages is a plus
Basic math skills for cash handling and POS transactions
Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities
Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly, approachable demeanor
Knowledge of merchandising principles and retail operations
Ability to perform basic cashiering duties accurately
Flexibility to work varied shifts as needed; weekend availability is a plus
Demonstrated ability to upsell products and enhance customer experience
