Specific Accountabilities

Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs.
Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, and inform supervisor of stock needs and shortages; stock shelves with product from new shipments received.
Order, label, and count stock of medications, chemicals, and supplies, and enter inventory data into computer.
Check outdates.
Clean, & help maintain, equipment & work areas.
Make boxes and prepare shipping materials
Generate accurate shipping labels for patient’s medication delivery
Fast typist
Date entry of patiest care information & knowledge of WINRx is an asset.
Accurate dispensing of prescription
Maintain up to date knowledge and understanding of all related company policies and procedures; pharmacy practices, new drugs and their uses.
Ensures a high professional standard of service and performance by actively participating in other duties as assigned, educational and training programs.

This position is required to operate and perform in a pharmacy environment. Unique or special features of the job include:

Some repetitive hand motion is required (typing, mouse, handling medications/packages)
May be required to lift up to 10lbs
May be required to carry packages up and down stairs.

Experience with WinRX is an asset.
Working knowledge of various computer systems and programs including Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Excel, and Word; dispensing software; Internet & email
Ability to safely and effectively operate general office equipment (phones, fax, photocopier)
Good command of the English language; occasional use of oral and written skills.
Accuracy and a strong attention to detail
In-depth knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations.
Ability to multitask and manage changing priorities
Effective interpersonal skills
Ability to make decisions which may have a major implication on the management and operations of an area or department
Ability to solve problems or resolve conflicts which are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
