Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Server to join the front-of-house team at Novita Italian Cuisine. This role is essential in delivering a high standard of guest service while ensuring a welcoming, professional, and enjoyable dining experience.

The ideal candidate has previous experience in a full-service restaurant environment, strong knowledge of food and beverage service, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Experience with Italian cuisine or upscale casual dining is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Welcome guests and provide attentive, professional, and friendly table service.
Present menus, explain menu items, and answer guest questions regarding food and beverages.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, ingredients, preparation methods, and menu offerings.
Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders into the POS system.
Make informed recommendations and suggest food and beverage pairings when appropriate.
Maintain awareness of guest needs throughout the dining experience.
Ensure food and beverages are delivered accurately and in a timely manner.
Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Monitor tables and provide timely refills, additional items, and assistance as required.
Handle guest concerns and requests professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
Process payments accurately and efficiently.
Maintain clean, organized, and properly presented tables and service areas.
Follow restaurant service standards, policies, and procedures.
Assist with opening, closing, and side duties as required.
Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.
Contribute to a collaborative and team-oriented restaurant environment.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Server in a full-service restaurant environment.

Minimum 2 years of serving experience preferred.
Experience in Italian, Mediterranean, upscale casual, or comparable restaurant environments is an asset.
Strong knowledge of food and beverage service.
Knowledge of Italian cuisine, wines, cocktails, and menu terminology is an asset.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to confidently describe menu items and make appropriate recommendations.
Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage multiple tables and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Professional, polished, and personable demeanor.
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Smart Serve certification required.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
