As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking an Associate Lawyer who is motivated to develop their legal career while gaining exposure to a diverse range of client matters. Position: Associate Lawyer
Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 + Annual Performance Bonus

· Meet deadlines for tasks and projects.
Day to Day Tasks:
· Morning (Triage): Checking emails and prioritizing tasks, often reviewing overnight communications as needed & planning your day to ensure client service and owners quota expectations are both met and not compromised.
· Mid-Day (Meetings & Deals): Participating in meetings and calls regarding deal strategy, structuring, or contractual negotiations.
· Afternoon (Drafting & Research): Deep work on drafting legal documents, researching, or reviewing regulatory filings
· Reviewing Agreements: Analyzing the Agreement of Purchase and Sale to ensure terms are fair and protecting client interests and in other service product areas deemed necessary.
· Conducting Title Searches: Examining the title to ensure it is free from liens, encumbrances, or legal disputes.
· Drafting Documents: Preparing closing documents, including the Deed/Transfer of Land and mortgage documents.
· Arranging Title Insurance: Protecting the buyer and lender against future title defects.
· Calculating Fees: Creating the Statement of Adjustments, which outlines the final closing funds, including land transfer tax, property tax adjustments, and deposits.
· Preparing Documentation: Drafting the deed and other required documentation to officially transfer ownership.
· Managing Payouts: Handling the payoff of the existing mortgage and distributing sale proceeds.
· Due Diligence: Investigating outstanding property taxes, utilities, and potential zoning issues.
· Dispute Resolution: Providing legal advice to resolve issues that arise during the transaction.
· Client Sign Up Process: Frictionless, value-driven, and transparent journey that requires minimal effort from the client. It immediately reassures them that they made the right choice, reduces the time-to-value, and builds immediate trust.
· Wills & Estate Planning: Preparing, reviewing, and advising on wills, estate planning documents, and related client matters to ensure client intentions are accurately documented and legally protected.
· Powers of Attorney: Drafting and reviewing Powers of Attorney for Property and Personal Care, while advising clients on their legal implications and responsibilities.
· Estate Administration: Assisting with estate administration matters, including probate applications, executor support, asset and liability review, beneficiary communications, and other related estate requirements.
· Client Estate Consultations: Meeting with clients to understand their estate planning objectives, identify legal considerations, and recommend appropriate documentation and next steps.
· Must attend all corporate or sales events for networking purposes as required
· Additional Legal Matters: Supporting and managing other legal matters, client files, transactions, projects, or responsibilities that may arise based on the evolving needs of the firm and its clients.
Qualifications:
· Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
· Minimum 2+ years of professional legal experience in real estate law, wills and estates, and corporate law.
· Additional areas of expertise will be considered an asset.
· Valid Notarial Certificate / authorization to act as a Notary Public in Ontario.
· Demonstrated experience managing client files and legal documentation.
· Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
· Strong understanding of professional responsibility, confidentiality, and client-service obligations.
· Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
· Ability to communicate complex legal information clearly and professionally to clients.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Comfortable learning and utilizing legal practice management and other technology platforms.
· Must have reliable transportation and access to a vehicle as required for the position.

· Technical Proficiency, must type a min of 50 words/minute and advanced in excel with MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel, Outlook, Google Chrome, etc.
· Must own a vehicle and have access to it at all times.
· Must have excellent technology skills and advanced in using all Microsoft Suite Software's including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Work Schedule:
· Regular Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
· Evening & Weekend Availability: Must be available outside regular hours as required for client meetings, appointments, urgent legal matters, and file closings.
· Sales & Networking Events: Must maintain flexibility to attend firm sales, networking, and corporate events that support business development and firm growth.
· Virtual Client Services: Must be comfortable providing legal services remotely from the office through virtual client consultations, meetings, document reviews, and related legal appointments.
· In-Office Position: This is an in-office role; remote work is not available.
