Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Archaeological Field Technicians to join our team. This role involves participating in Stage 3 and 4 fieldwork, for a mix of remote and urban projects in Northwestern Ontario. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for archaeology and experience working physical outdoor labour. This position is for existing vacancies intended to be filled for the ongoing 2026 field season.

Duties

Participate in Stage 3 and 4 excavations.
Collect and record data in the field according to specified methodologies.
Collaborate with team members and work independently as required.
Follow direction in terms of equipment care and ensure compliance with safety protocols during fieldwork.
Working 5+ days a week, weather permitting.

Qualifications

Previous archaeological field experience not required.
Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field preferred but not required.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks associated with fieldwork.
Familiarity and comfort with wilderness environments considered an asset.
Must be willing to live at remotely in provided accommodation if needed (project specific).
