Full job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Office Manager / Bookkeeper to support the operations of a high-end custom home building company. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys managing the financial and administrative functions of a thriving construction business while providing exceptional service to clients, trades, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions using QuickBooks Desktop
Complete accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice entry and payment tracking
Maintain vendor accounts, process payments, and follow up on outstanding receivables
Support payroll administration and expense tracking as required
Monthly remittances
Maintain accurate job costing records for custom residential construction projects
Track project expenses, materials, subcontractor costs, labour, and change orders
Review project budgets versus actual costs and identify discrepancies
Assist management with financial reporting and project profitability tracking
Maintain organized project documentation and cost records
Manage daily office operations and administrative processes
Maintain organized filing systems, contracts, purchase orders, and project documentation
Coordinate communication between clients, suppliers, trades, and internal teams
Assist with onboarding vendors and maintaining supplier relationships

Qualifications & Experience

3+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably within construction, or a related industry
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop (required)
Experience with construction job costing and project accounting
Understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and financial reporting
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable learning new systems

Pay: $63,000.00-$78,000.00 per year
