Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our public practice team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to develop foundational accounting skills within a professional environment. The successful candidate will assist with various accounting functions, support client accounts, and contribute to the overall financial accuracy of our firm. Prior experience with accounting software and a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles are preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate. This position is paid and ideal for individuals looking to grow their career in accounting and financial services.

Responsibilities

Support account reconciliation processes, including bank reconciliation and account analysis
Maintain accurate records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms
Help prepare financial statements, reports, and summaries for clients and internal review
Assist with bookkeeping tasks, including data entry and ledger management
Support auditing procedures by gathering documentation and verifying financial data
External communications including CRA
Contribute to payroll processing and related financial services tasks
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards in all tasks

Skills

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, or Caseware is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, account reconciliation, and bank reconciliation processes
Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
Good communication skills for collaboration within the team and with clients
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to various accounting systems and procedures
Basic understanding of corporate finance concepts and financial services industry practices
Bilingual between Korean and English is an asset.

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
