Summary
St. Margaret’s School (SMS) is Western Canada’s only girl-centered, independent day and boarding school located in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada on the unceded traditional territories of the Esquimalt Nations, Songhees Nations, and W̱SÁNEĆ Nations. Founded in 1908, SMS is an international centre for girl-centered learning and leadership development, providing empowering education for girls from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12 (boarding grades 7–12). St. Margaret’s School is an International Baccalaureate (IB) School offering the Diploma Programme, and we are a candidate school for the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).
The Associate Director of Admissions supports the Admissions Department in developing and executing St. Margaret’s School’s student recruitment initiatives both domestically and internationally. This role is integral in managing the admissions process and building relationships with agents and families of current and prospective students to ensure a successful SMS experience. Additionally, the Associate Director will actively seek opportunities to highlight, promote, and raise awareness of the School. This role assists and supports the Admissions process.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruit and enroll qualified students to meet the school’s admissions targets.
- Cultivate new and existing relationships with agents and families of current and prospective students.
- Collaborate with the Admissions Department to develop achievable and geographically diverse recruitment targets.
- Assist with recruitment activities, including preparation, travel fairs, events, information sessions, and one-on-one meetings.
- Work with the Communications and Advancement departments to develop promotional materials and create events that increase interest and inquiries in the school.
- Develop, produce, and deliver effective presentations to highlight school programs.
- Assist the Admissions team in assessment activities, including reviewing applications, interviewing prospective students, and conducting academic evaluations.
- Represent the School at special events and recruitment opportunities involving prospective students.
- Support retention strategies across all grades and contribute to a sustainable long-term strategic admissions plan.
- Welcome students and their families to their new life within the close-knit SMS community.
- Provide excellence customer service to successfully deliver admissions services on behalf of the school
- Track and report all admissions and re-enrollment metrics.
- Support the Admissions Assistant role as needed.
- Domestic and international travel is required.
- Work schedule includes evening and weekend activities as needed.
- Actively support the vision, mission, and values of the school.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Education and Experience
- A university degree in relevant discipline
- Minimum of 5 years experience in recruitment and admissions
- Experience within an independent, international education environment is preferred
- Multiple languages proficiency is preferred
