Full job description

The Junior Accountant performs essential bookkeeping and accounting duties to support the day-to-day financial operations of the company. The RT Group comprises several companies, the largest being RT Prime Industries, and the accounting & finance team services all group companies. The Accounting & Finance team operates with a flat organizational structure. This position reports to the Finance Leadership Team and receives day-to-day guidance, training, and support from senior members of the Accounting & Finance team.

Duties include:

Deposit customer cheques and record transactions in the accounting systems.
Maintain fixed asset registers.
Process vendor invoices and payments.
Perform accounts payable reconciliations.
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates must be:

Proficient in MS applications (e.g. Excel, Outlook) and/or Google Workspace (e.g. Google Sheets, Google Mail).
Comfortable using accounting software and ERP systems (e.g. Sage 50 Cloud or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central). Experience with either system is considered an asset.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
Enthusiasm for learning new skills;

Minimum educational qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Previous experience is preferred but not required.
