We are a full-service restoration company looking to hire ambitious and energetic Flood Technician & Lead EMS Technician for our Victoria branch. What to Expect in This Role.
The Flood Technician plays a crucial role in water damage restoration. You will perform water extraction, demolition and sanitation procedures.
Job responsibilities
- Document work status through photos and/or videos to keep managers and teams informed.
- Determine the category of water loss.
- Extract excess water from carpets, walls, and other surfaces.
- Assist in determining non-restorable building components.
- Assist in demolition.
- Set up and manage drying equipment.
- Clean and sanitize using bio-wash procedures.
- May be required to manipulate, block, or move contents.
- Monitors drying process and adjusts/removes equipment as required.
- Collaborated with team members during each stage of the restoration process, ensuring timely completion
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant restoration industry experience (required)
- Ability to work overtime for after-hours emergency work
- Ability to work well under pressure in difficult circumstances
- Strong communication skills (spoken and written)
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Ability to pass a criminal background check if required
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract (required)
- Familiarity with basic technology such as cellphone use, Outlook email, and Encircle
- Ability to lift industrial fans 30 - 40 lbs.
- Ability to load/unload wheeled industrial dehumidifiers.
- Knowledge of construction-related hand tools and power tools.
- Knowledge of building materials and basic construction fundamentals.
- Experience in custodial work, pressure washing, carpet cleaning, or carpet installation is considered an asset.
Working Conditions:
- Will often work in dirty and/or wet conditions
- Work is of a physical nature
- Personal Protective Equipment are provided
- Work is full-time. Overtime is required at times.
Your First Few Weeks: Onboarding & Training
Week 1–2: Orientation, safety training, and system setup (PSA, Encircle, Outlook). Assist with basic tasks like pack-outs, cleaning, and equipment setup.
Week 2–3: Shadow experienced technicians on job sites. Assist with water extraction, demolition, equipment setup, and documentation.
Week 3–5: Take on more responsibility, including monitoring drying, cleaning, and supporting restoration tasks with less supervision.
Ongoing: Continued support, regular check-ins, and opportunities to grow into senior or Crew Lead roles.
On-Call Rotation – How It Works
Restoration doesn’t stop when the workday ends and neither do we.
Our on-call rotation ensures customers receive a rapid response when emergencies happen.
- On-call shifts are shared across the team on a rotating basis
- No single person carries the load
- When on call, you must be reachable by phone and respond within a defined timeframe
- After-hours callouts are compensated with overtime pay.
