Full job description

Clappison Developments Ltd built, owns and manages industrial properties in Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph, Ontario. We require a detail oriented and organized Bookkeeper for our Waterloo office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring the integrity of our accounting data. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles to support the company's financial performance .

Duties

Manage day to day bookkeeping tasks with accounting software such as Sage 50 Premium
Record and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or errors and resolve issues promptly
Process the company payroll and make the appropriate remittances
Prepare balance sheets and income statements for individual properties and the corporation
Calculate and record tenant common area maintenance expenses {cam} on a monthly basis in Excel to produce a year end tenant cam reconciliation report and payment schedule.
Prepare quarterly and year end trial balances and documentation for management and the external accountants.

Experience

Minimum 5 years experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles, preferably within a similar industry
Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero and and ability to quickly adapt to new software.
Proficiency in designing and using Excel spreadsheets for recording, analyzing and reporting tenant cam expenses
Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll processing, and financial reporting
Highly proficient computer skills and administrative talent coupled with excellent analytical and numerical skills

This is an ideal position for an experienced bookkeeper looking to work a reduced schedule of four and a half days per week dealing with owner managed buildings and quality tenants.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 26 – 30 per week
