Full job description

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Meat Department Head (or his/her delegates), the Meat Cutter is responsible for trimming, cut, chopping, and preparing various meat products in advance for customers to choose from. The position also requires stocking meat products onto the display cases in the sales area, following the FIFO concept, provide good service to our customers by fulfilling their requests, and maintain inventory and workplace cleanliness.

You Will

Process by trimming, cutting, and chopping various meat products using the meat cutting equipment and tools
Store meat products properly and timely after cutting to prolong shelf life, following FIFO concept
Maintain inventory and ensure the full display of various products
Prepare various meat products for sales activities, including but not limited to cuting, deboning, slicing, packing and labeling meat products and display them in the display coolers
Maintain workplace cleanliness, wash and ensure relevant work tools are clean and well-kept
Assist customers in meat product selection and recommendations, as required; provide good customer service with a smile, friendly enthusiasm
Provide meat product guidance and related meat cutting knowledge to other staff members
Familiar with the location of various meat items and keep self-updated with all Meat Department promotion activities
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

You Should Have / Be

Flexible to work in shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evenings and statutory holidays
Able to operate meat cutters and other tools in a safe manner
Be prepared to stand for a long time, deal with products hands on and lift products of up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
Be prepared to work in low temperature (0-4 ℃), freezing temperature (-18℃), and wet environments for a long time
Not allergic to handling meat products
Able to communicate in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin)
Knowledge of basic work and food safety
Relevant experience in handling meat products is preferred
