Opening Fall 2026, Bardo Elora is an exciting new restaurant located in the heart of Elora along the Grand River. As part of the Elora Mill property, we're creating a destination where exceptional food, genuine hospitality, and unforgettable experiences come together. This is a unique opportunity to join a founding team, help shape a new restaurant from the ground up, and be part of something remarkable from day one.

The Lead Bartender at Bardo is responsible for overseeing and efficiently running the restaurant bar. As a skilled bartender with several years' experience, the Lead Bartender is a key person in the day-to-day success of the restaurant working collaboratively with the Restaurant Manager and both Front of House and Back of House teams. With a passion for cocktails, wine, beer and other beverages, the ideal candidate enjoys staying up to date on current trends in the Food & Beverage industry.

Accountabilities:

Develop the cocktail list using fresh, seasonal ingredients to create interesting and delicious beverages.
Assist in the selection and overall organization of the wine and beer lists.
Maintain inventory, placing orders on schedule and ensuring invoices are submitted on time.
Prepare bar area, ensuring it has all tools and ingredients necessary for a smooth service.
Prepare guest beverage selections in a timely manner, serving them in the correct glassware and following all other beverage specifications.
Engage with guests at the bar, creating connections, and make thoughtful drink and food recommendations.
Develop a strong understanding of the restaurant and bar menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation, to confidently answer guest questions and provide tailored recommendations.
Take guests’ orders, noting any dietary restrictions or special requests, and communicate these to the kitchen and culinary team.
Recognize repeat guests and customize their experience based on their preferences, ensuring they feel valued.
Demonstrate a sense of urgency during peak periods while maintaining poise and attention to detail. During quieter times, stay proactive by polishing glassware, restocking, and maintaining cleanliness.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of all bar areas, including fridges, counters, and ice wells, ensuring all glassware is washed and polished as necessary.
Properly close the bar at the end of the shift, ensuring all products are stored correctly, closing checklists are completed, and any missing equipment or signage is promptly reported.
