Honeypot is currently hiring Part-Time Sales Associates for both Honeypot Smoke Shop and Honeypot Vape Shop.
This is a cross-trained position supporting two neighbouring retail stores:
- Honeypot Smoke Shop: Licensed cannabis and accessories retail
- Honeypot Vape Shop: Vape devices, pods, e-liquids and accessories
This is the entry point for this cross-trained position. The successful candidate will be trained to work in both Honeypot Smoke Shop and Honeypot Vape Shop and may initially be scheduled in either store based on availability, performance and business needs. Team members who demonstrate strong reliability, product knowledge, customer service and scheduling flexibility may earn additional hours and may eventually become primarily assigned to one side of the business.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, professional, friendly and comfortable learning a large selection of products in a regulated retail environment. Previous cannabis or vape experience is an asset, but strong customer service, sound judgment and a genuine willingness to learn are equally important.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service and Product Education
- Welcome customers and create a friendly, respectful and inclusive shopping experience
- Listen carefully to customers and ask appropriate questions to understand their needs, preferences and budget
- Provide accurate and helpful product information without making medical claims or guaranteeing specific results
- Explain cannabis product formats, THC and CBD information, accessories and responsible-use considerations
- Assist vape customers with device selection, pods, e-liquid flavours, nicotine strengths, coils and accessories
- Explain basic device operation, maintenance, battery safety and troubleshooting
- Make thoughtful product recommendations without pressuring customers or encouraging unnecessary purchases
- Handle customer questions, concerns and complaints professionally and involve management when necessary
Compliance and Responsible Sales
- Follow all age-verification, identification and refusal-of-sale procedures
- Confirm that customers meet all legal purchasing requirements before completing a transaction
- Follow applicable cannabis and vape retail regulations, purchase restrictions and company policies
- Refuse transactions when identification, third-party purchasing, intoxication or other compliance concerns are present
- Protect customer privacy and handle sensitive situations respectfully
- Complete required compliance documentation and incident reporting accurately
Sales and Transactions
- Operate the point-of-sale system accurately
- Process cash, debit and credit transactions
- Apply promotions, discounts and loyalty rewards correctly
- Maintain accurate cash handling and till procedures
- Prepare customer orders where applicable
- Learn current promotions and explain them clearly to customers
- Balance good customer service with responsible and ethical sales practices
Inventory, Merchandising and Store Standards
- Receive, organize and restock merchandise
- Assist with inventory counts and report discrepancies promptly
- Check products for damaged packaging, broken seals or other quality concerns
- Maintain clean, organized and attractive display areas
- Keep counters, display cases, floors and customer areas clean
- Complete assigned opening, closing and shift-maintenance duties
- Help ensure products, signage and pricing are displayed accurately
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs or customer requests to management
Teamwork and Development
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with coworkers and management
- Share relevant customer feedback, product requests and inventory concerns
- Participate in training, product education and team meetings
- Accept coaching and apply feedback professionally
- Support coworkers during busy periods and contribute to smooth store operations
- Stay informed about new products, promotions, company procedures and regulatory requirements
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- A valid CannSell Standard Certification is required to work cannabis-store shifts
- Previous retail, hospitality, sales or customer-service experience is required
- Previous cannabis or vape retail experience is preferred but not required
- Strong communication and active-listening skills
- Comfortable discussing cannabis, nicotine and adult-use products professionally
- Able to learn and retain detailed product and compliance information
- Comfortable operating computers, tablets and point-of-sale systems
- Accurate with cash handling and basic calculations
- Reliable, punctual and able to attend scheduled shifts consistently
- Professional appearance, attitude and communication
- Able to remain calm and respectful when refusing a sale or dealing with a difficult customer
- Able to work independently while following established procedures
- Willing and able to work in both Honeypot stores after completing training
- Able to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift, move or organize inventory

Schedule and Availability
This is a part-time position. Weekly hours may vary based on employee availability, staffing requirements, performance and business needs.
Applicants must be available for a combination of:
- Daytime shifts
- Evening shifts
- Weekends
- Statutory holidays when the stores are open
