As a Fabrication Fitter, YOU will experience:

In a typical day, YOU will:

Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Whiting’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
Thoroughly understand and comply with Health and Safety, Quality Management Systems and Company policies.
Work from complex drawings
Operate various hand tools, such as but not limited to hand grinders, magnetic drills
Operate overhead Cranes and Jib Cranes

Must-haves for this role:

Minium Highschool Diploma
Must possess a high standard of quality in workmanship and be able to fit to tight tolerances.
Must be able to work effectively and efficiently.
Experience in FCAW, GMAW, SMAW welding processes is a requirement and any educational course’s related to fitting would be an asset.
To be able to multi task and assist with other roles when required.
Must be technically strong in blueprint reading and fluent in weld symbols
Strong background in structural fitting and welding required
If not certified a minimum of five years experience in fitting and welding of structural assemblies.
Previous or currently ticketed with CWB an asset.
Able to lift a minimum 22kg/50lbs.
Welding: 3 years (preferred)
Fitting: 3 years (preferred)

Working Conditions

Shop/Factory setting with temperature variations
Standard hours with overtime or weekend work may be required to meet deadlines or complete urgent repairs
Exposure to dust and fumes
Heavy lifting, moving and assembling equipment and components
Significant amount of time walking, standing, climbing,
Exposure to noisy environment
