We're looking for a motivated and dependable Restoration Carpenter Helper to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in restoration, construction, or carpentry while working alongside experienced professionals on a variety of projects.
What You'll Do
As a Restoration Carpenter Helper, you will support restoration and reconstruction projects from start to finish by assisting with:
- Performing demolition and site preparation activities safely and efficiently
- Assisting with framing, finishing, repairs, and reconstruction following property damage
- Operating hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Loading, unloading, moving, and organizing materials and equipment
- Maintaining clean, organized, and safe work sites
- Following directions from Lead Carpenters and Project Managers
- Working in both residential and commercial environments
- Delivering quality workmanship while meeting project timelines
- Following all company policies, health and safety procedures, and site-specific requirements
- Complying with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects
- Supporting emergency and restoration response activities as required
- Performing other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, renovation, demolition, restoration, or carpentry
- Basic proficiency with hand tools and power tools
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check
- Must supply basic personal carpentry hand tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in the restoration industry
- Experience in residential renovations or general construction
- Working at Heights, WHMIS, First Aid/CPR, Asbestos Awareness, or similar health and safety certifications
- Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and job site safety practices
