Full job description

Job Title: Building Engineer/Operator

The primary responsibilities of the Building Engineer/Operator for site in Downtown Kelowna area:

Overseeing Building's preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, lighting, electrical, elevating devices, life safety systems, parkade and roof;
Conducted regular meetings with Janitorial contractors to ensure work is being completed in accordance with company’s policies and standards.·
Responsible for implementing company's policies and maintaining Building(s) according to the current provincial fire and building codes
Management of energy and utility consumption;
Conduct environmental assessments and reporting;
Implementing the corporate occupational health and safety program;
Management of waste, recycling and hazardous materials;
Oversee computerized control systems;
Assist with the management of Tenant improvement construction when required;
Ensure sound curtain wall, structural and roof maintenance;
Responsibilities to ensure team completes tenant service requests to the satisfaction of management and the tenants;

· Responsible for ensuring that seasonal third-party contractors (landscaping, snow removing, parking lot maintenance etc.) were ready to provide services within appropriate timing.

· Invite third-party contractors for RFP and oversee renovations and constructions work.

· Responsible for risk management and annual health & safety audit for the Building(s).

Assist with building component life cycles and costs;
Conduct insurance and risk management inspections, remedial actions and reporting;
Assist in the preparation of annual operations and capital project budgeting;
Provide technical or administrative advice to internal and external clients;
Assist operation with field duties as required;
Other assigned duties;
