Health Care Assistant (HCA) - West Kelowna / Kelowna

If you are a new graduate or have experience working in assisted living facilities, independent living facilities, senior living facilities, nursing homes, home care or healthcare, we’d love for you to join our team.

Responsibilities:

Assisting clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
Assisting clients with instrumental activities of daily living such as light housekeeping, meal preparation
Monitoring and reporting any changes in the client's condition to the healthcare team
Providing assistance with mobility and transferring patients safely
Supporting patients with eating and drinking, adhering to dietary requirements
Assisting with medication reminders and medication administration under supervision
Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients
Providing emotional support and companionship to patients and their families

Qualifications:

Compassionate and empathetic demeanor
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to speak and write in English. Other languages will be an asset.

Requirements:

Current registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
Completion of a recognized Health Care Assistant program
Previous experience working as a Health Care Assistant in a healthcare setting preferred
Negative TB test completed in the past 90 days
A negative Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued in the past 90 days
Certification in CPR and First Aid (preferred)
Reliable transportation and flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends

Benefits:

$23.00-$26.00 per hour
