Southwestern Manufacturing Inc. operates in a competitive global market producing wide ranging metal based assemblies and components across a variety of industry sectors including but not limited to Mining, Oil & Gas, Crane and Drag-line Components, Agricultural, Machine building, and Heavy Equipment Manufacturing.

Increased over the years, our extensive plant capacity developed to cater for our multi million pound turnover, is spread across four facilities manned by over 200 employees. It incorporates shot blasting, stress relieving, fitting, welding, machining, non-destructive testing, final paint, right on through to our own logistics network, resulting in high value finished items across many diverse sectors.

Role Overview

Southwestern Manufacturing Inc. is seeking Labourer for our DEBURR department to start as soon as possible (minimum of 40 - 48 hours per week). We operate on a rotating shift of days and afternoons.

We are looking for enthusiastic team members who want to become part of our strategic manufacturing team and are looking for growth and opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications & Skills

· Some level of knowledge in the use of hand tools, including pneumatic grinders & sanders, hand drills, hand tapping and the ability to follow work instructions.

Education & Experience

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent, which is a minimum requirement.
Previous experience using cranes and forklifts is an asset.
Previous experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
2 years of Hand tool experience
2 years of grinding experience

Working Conditions

Shop environment with exposure to noise, sparks, grinding debris, and moving equipment.
Regular lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have an attention for detail to ensure tight deadlines are met.

Safety & Quality Expectations

Adhere strictly to workplace health and safety legislation and company safety procedures.
Follow all quality control processes and documentation requirements.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
