Full job description

Location: Teeswater
Department: Butter Packaging
Reports to: Supervisor, Operations
Status: Full-time

The Role and Candidate:
Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the scope of this position involves all aspects of plant labour in a food production environment.

The starting hourly pay range for the role is $19.57 - $26.42 based on experience and qualifications. Plus, bonus, comprehensive benefits, retirement savings plan, paid vacation, and other perks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate all aspects of ghee manufacturing including automated equipment and manual controls
Utilize forklift to move raw materials and finished product throughout the plant
Maintain safe, efficient operations while producing safe and high-quality products
Accurately follow prescribed ghee making procedures ensuring consistent quality products
Prepare, operate and monitor ghee vats and other manufacturing machinery
Conduct daily CIP washes of systems
Conduct daily tear down and sanitation of room and machinery as outlined in the SSOP’s for the area
Interact with maintenance and other supervisory staff or management regarding any production issues
Communicate any food safety issues to the Management team
Maintain accurate and detailed manufacturing records and perform room and equipment checks as required
Provide relief coverage for other operators/plant helpers as required
Other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications & Competencies:

Minimum high school diploma and/or relevant food processing experience
Valid forklift license or willingness to obtain
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including excellent sanitary habits and possess knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
Good communication skills, including written and verbal
Ability to be flexible in terms of shift work and perform other duties as required
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Physically capable of performing the demands of the job and ability to multi-task
Computer skills would be an asset
Mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting ability

Shift Details: 8-12 hour rotating continental shifts totaling 40 hrs weekly (approx.) Shift times and hours worked may vary dependent on production volumes.
