Full job description

ECOSAN Hygiene is seeking an experienced and energetic Staff Bookkeeper/Accountant to assist with all accounting-related functions in our head office at 1534 Church Avenue in Winnipeg. We are looking for someone to start ASAP as a key support to our CFO and office team.

The starting compensation is $55,000.00 to $65,000.00/year depending on experience, 3 weeks vacation annually and health benefits after 90 days.

There is ample opportunity to also increase the scope of the role and advance the salary as the successful candidate moves forward in the role.

The successful candidate must have proven full cycle accounting experience and extensive knowledge of QuickBooks. Our company operates on Quickbooks so knowing the software well is critical to the success of this role.

Tasks will include (but are not limited to):

Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Process manual payments (cheques, EFTs, wires)
Support accounts payable and receivable functions
Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in QuickBooks
Investigate and process returned/bounced payments
Sort and distribute mail, including handling incoming payments
Assist with daily cash tracking and basic cash position reporting
Support preparation of weekly and periodic financial reports
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare reconciliations
Post standard journal entries
Support audit and external accountant requests
Assist with regulatory filings (e.g., GST/PST, WCB, WSIB)
Maintain organized financial records and documentation
Communicate with vendors and customers as needed
Provide general administrative and accounting support
