Video Editor & Content Creator — Winnipeg
CA$20.00 – CA$22.00 per hour · 30 hours per week · In office to start, hybrid after the training period
We need someone to turn Canadian immigration into content people actually watch. If you can shoot, cut, caption and publish — and you want the work to matter — read on.
Who we are
Verge Immigration Services Inc. is a Winnipeg immigration firm led by Jatinder Singh, a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) licensed by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants. We have supported more than 1,000 clients across work permits, study permits, permanent residence, Super Visas, and provincial nominee programs. Our Winnipeg office holds a 4.9-star rating across more than 460 verified Google reviews and was named the #1 rated immigration consultant in Winnipeg in 2025. We also serve clients from a second office in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Thousands of people are trying to figure out Canadian immigration right now, and most of what they find online is wrong, outdated, or selling them something. We want to be the channel that tells them the truth. That is what this role is for.
The role
You will make the videos and posts that explain Canadian immigration to the people trying to navigate it. We supply the subject-matter expertise; you turn it into content that gets watched and read. This is a hands-on production role — shooting, cutting, captioning, publishing and tracking, often several pieces a week.
What you will do
- Shoot and edit short-form vertical video (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) explaining immigration programs, updates and common mistakes
- Cut longer explainers and Q&As into clips, and turn one shoot into multiple pieces
- Add captions, subtitles, b-roll, motion graphics and on-screen text
- Design thumbnails, quote cards and simple graphics
- Write and publish blog posts and program pages on our website
- Schedule and publish across social channels and Google Business Profile
- Maintain a content calendar so we publish consistently rather than in bursts
- Track what performs — views, watch time, saves, click-throughs — and apply it to the next round
- Help with photography and light setup for in-office shoots
- Take direction on other marketing and administrative tasks as they come up
Skills you must have
- Video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro — name your primary tool when you apply
- CapCut or equivalent for fast short-form turnaround
- Captioning and subtitling, including burned-in captions
- Vertical video framing and pacing for Reels, TikTok and Shorts
- Graphic design in Canva or Adobe Express — thumbnails, quote cards, simple layouts
- Publishing to a website CMS such as WordPress, including formatting posts and uploading media
- Comfortable shooting on a phone or camera with basic lighting and audio
- Clear written English for captions, post copy and blog drafts
- Organized enough to run a content calendar and hit publishing dates without being chased
Nice to have
- After Effects or motion graphics
- Basic SEO — keywords, meta descriptions, internal linking
- Social scheduling tools such as Publer, Meta Business Suite or Buffer
- Photography and photo editing
- Fluency in Punjabi, Hindi or another language spoken by our client base
- Any familiarity with Canadian immigration topics
Required with your application
A portfolio, reel or links to short-form video you edited yourself. Tell us what you did on each piece. Applications without work samples will not be considered.
One thing to know about this content
We are a regulated practice. Immigration content cannot promise outcomes, guarantee approvals, or give advice that only a licensed consultant can give. Every piece you produce is reviewed by the RCIC before it publishes. If you like work where accuracy matters more than hype, you will do well here.
