About Us

Famous Dave’s BBQ is a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant known for authentic slow-smoked BBQ, exceptional hospitality, and outstanding guest experiences. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Prep Cook to join our kitchen team.

Position Summary

The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining production levels, and supporting kitchen operations to ensure every guest receives fresh, high-quality food. This role plays an essential part in keeping the kitchen organized, efficient, and ready for service.

Responsibilities

Prepare meats, vegetables, sauces, side dishes, and other ingredients according to Famous Dave’s recipes and standards.
Portion, label, and rotate products using FIFO procedures.
Maintain accurate prep levels based on business demands.
Assist Line Cooks during busy service periods.
Receive, inspect, and properly store deliveries.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
Keep prep areas, walk-in coolers, storage areas, and equipment clean and organized.
Minimize food waste by following proper preparation and storage procedures.
Complete opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties.
Work closely with the kitchen team to maintain efficient operations.

Qualifications

Previous kitchen or prep experience is required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Reliable, punctual, and able to multitask.
Food Handler Certification is an asset.
