Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Pastry Chef & Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. This role involves crafting beautiful and delicious cakes, pastries, and desserts that delight our customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, exceptional cake decorating skills, and experience working in a fast-paced food environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary artistry while providing excellent customer service in a vibrant bakery setting.

Duties

Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards
Decorate cakes with intricate designs, fondant, icing, and other decorative elements to meet customer specifications
Ensure all baked goods are visually appealing and meet quality standards
Handle food preparation tasks including mixing, measuring, and assembling ingredients
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and work area in compliance with food safety regulations
Package baked goods securely for display or delivery
Assist customers with product selections and answer questions about ingredients or customization options
Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene at all times
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely production and service during busy periods

Requirements

Proven experience in cake decorating and pastry arts, preferably within a restaurant or bakery environment
Strong skills in food preparation, baking, and culinary techniques
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
Experience with food packaging for retail or catering purposes is a plus
Kitchen experience in the food industry is highly desirable
Creativity and an eye for design are essential for decorating cakes professionally
Food handling certification or training is preferred but not mandatory
