Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Assistant to support our team in various administrative and accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles, enabling them to assist with both corporate and non-profit accounting functions. This role is essential in maintaining efficient office operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to management and staff, including scheduling meetings and managing calendars.
Assist with bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Prepare financial reports, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Maintain general ledger accounting records in accordance with GAAP standards.
Perform balance sheet reconciliation and ensure accuracy in financial data entry.
Utilize accounting software such as QBO, for various financial tasks.
Conduct bank reconciliations and assist with payroll processing as needed.
Support budgeting processes by analyzing financial data and preparing reports.
Collaborate with team members on special projects related to governmental or public accounting as required.
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.

Experience

Proficiency in accounting software QBO is preferred.
Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and account analysis.
Experience with corporate accounting practices as well as non-profit accounting is a plus.
Familiarity with technical accounting principles and practices.
Excellent 10-key typing skills for accurate data entry.
Previous experience in administrative roles or similar positions is highly desirable.
