Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is currently recruiting the following challenging position to join our operations team:

Underground Development Miner – Service Miner (Loader)

Alamos Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a long-term track record of creating value for all stakeholders through solid financial performance, low-cost production growth, and a company-wide commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship. We currently operate three mines – two in Canada and one in Mexico – and we have a strong portfolio of development stage projects, including the Lynn Lake Project and Island Gold Phase 3+ Expansion in Canada, and Puerto Del Aire Project in Mexico. Alamos also has an early-stage exploration project in Canada, the Qiqavik Gold Project. Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos’ foundation for growth for many years to come. This is a very exciting time at Young-Davidson, and we are searching for highly motivated and committed people to join our team!

Reporting to the Supervisor, Mine Operations, the successful candidate must have the ability to lead the mine crew loading rounds with the McLean Amex loader.

Primary Responsibilities:

Install ground support as per company standard
Install and maintain services
Load development rounds
Prepare development faces for Jumbo Operator
Must be able to perform pre-operational inspections on equipment and operate in an efficient and safe manner
All other duties, as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Accreditation of basic common core
Accreditation of specialty common core
Self – motivated, ability to work alone.
Strong Safety focus
3-5 years plus underground mining experience
Preferred candidates will be proficient in development round loading and blasting.
Ability to mark faces will be seen as an asset.
Preferred candidates will be proficient in the installation of ground support with conventional stopper/services, pipe, vent and jackleg.

Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off – 10 hours

Pay or shift range: $40.23 CAD to $46.20 CAD

The expected salary range for this role is intended to support transparency and informed decision making. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience and internal equity.
