Company Description OnTime Tech Solution Inc. is a trusted independent IT field services and vendor company based in Ottawa, Ontario. We specialize in rapid-response onsite break/fix support, hardware installations, maintenance, and technical solutions for retail, POS systems, and commercial clients. Our mission is simple: deliver reliable, professional IT support on time, every time. We pride ourselves on quality workmanship, strong customer relationships, and the ability to serve the Greater Ottawa area, Kanata, Mississauga, Montreal, and Quebec City.

Job Title: IT Field Technician (Full-Time / Contract)

Location: Quebec City, Quebec

Reports to: Field Operations Manager

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate + mileage + performance bonuses (commensurate with experience)

Key Responsibilities

Provide onsite break/fix support for desktops, laptops, servers, printers, POS systems, and retail hardware.
Perform hardware installations, upgrades, migrations, and configurations.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently while maintaining clear communication with clients.
Conduct preventative maintenance and system health checks.
Install and configure networking equipment, peripherals, and software applications.
Manage service tickets from intake to closure with accurate documentation.
Represent OnTime Tech Solution professionally at client sites.
Collaborate with internal team and vendor partners to deliver exceptional service.
Travel to client locations as required (company vehicle or personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement).

Requirements

2+ years of hands-on IT field service experience (retail/POS environment is a strong asset).
Strong knowledge of Windows OS, basic networking, hardware troubleshooting, and peripheral devices.
IT Technical certifications such as ComptiaA+, Network+
Experience with POS systems (e.g., NCR, Verifone, Square, or similar) is highly preferred.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record with reliable transportation.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Own tools and basic diagnostic equipment.
Flexible availability for occasional after-hours or weekend work.
Criminal background check and references required.
Ability to speak English and French
